The Vienna Piano Meetup Group was set up in 2014 by Christine Kämmer from the non-profit association MUSEDU. The aim is to give adult amateur pianists the opportunity to practise performing in a friendly atmosphere. We rent a room with a grand piano once a month and play in an informal setting without external listeners. All genres, styles and levels are welcome. Once a year, we organise a more formal recital for friends and family.
Our group welcomes piano enthusiasts ages 18 to 99, beginners to semi-professionals. While most of our members are piano players, we highly welcome instrumentalists of all sorts and regularly have flutists, violinists or singers at our get-togethers. Members have formed duos of all kinds – our group provides a good opportunity to find duo partners.
The piano meetups take place about once a month, usually on weekday evenings. Duration is two hours. Afterwards, we go for dinner and drinks in the area.
There is no admission charge, but we split the rental fee for the piano room evenly among participants.
To receive information on all our events, sign up for our Vienna Piano Meetup Group group via the Meetup platform – it‘s free.
